Sergio Escalera Guerrero er tildelt titlen adjungeret lektor ved Institut for Arkitektur og Medieteknologi på Det Tekniske Fakultet for IT og Design på AAU.

Sergio Escalera Guerrero  er udannet informatikingeniør i 2003, og han tog sin ph.d.-grad i kunstig intelligens i 2008.
Han er lektor ved Universitat de Barcelona og projektleder ved Computer Vision Center. Han er leder af Human Pose Recovery and Behavior Analysis Group. Han er redaktør af bogserien The Springer Series on Challenges in Machine Learning og næstformand for ChaLearn.

Sergio Escalera Guerrero er også formand for IAPR TC-12: Multimedia and visual information systems.

Hans forskningsområder inkluderer statistisk mønstergenkendelse, affective computing, human pose recovery, behavior understanding og multimodal dataanalyse.

Hans primære videnskabelige fokus under adjungering på AAU har været følgende: Spatio-temporal deep learning approaches for face and body analysis, herunder multi-modal facial expression analysis og action/gesture recognition.

New honorary associate professor at TECH

Sergio Escalera Guerrero has been appointed honorary associate professor at the Department of Architecture, Design and Media Technology at the Technical Faculty of IT and Design at Aalborg University.

Dr. Sergio Escalera Guerrero graduated in informatics engineering in 2003 and finished his PhD in artificial intelligence in 2008. He is an associate professor at University of Barcelona and a project manager at the Computer Vision Center. He leads the Human Pose Recovery and Behavior Analysis Group. He is series editor of The Springer Series on Challenges in Machine Learning and vice-president of ChaLearn.

Sergio Escalera Guerrero is also chair of IAPR TC-12: Multimedia and visual information systems.

His research interests include statistical pattern recognition, affective computing, human pose recovery, behavior understanding, and multi-modal data analysis.

The primary scientific focus of his honorary associate professorship is: spatio-temporal deep learning approaches for face and body analysis, including multi-modal facial expression analysis and action/gesture recognition.
